Our professional pottery and teaching studio
The Studio at The Pottery, Elm Farm, Duck Lane, Langford is set in the beautiful North Somerset countryside, within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, and Weston-super-Mare.
We deliberately keep our courses small so everyone gets genuine one-to-one attention throughout the day. There are up to six students on the One and Two Day Throwing Courses, seven on the Raku course and only five on the Three Day Pottery Throwing Masterclass.
In our bright and spacious studio every student has their own dedicated wheel and access to all the tools and equipment they need. Aprons are provided, although students are welcome to bring their own apron and tools if they’d prefer.
On Raku firing days a lot of the action takes place outdoors where students get hands-on with the full fire-and-smoke Raku process.
All clays and materials are included, as are hot drinks and sweet treats throughout the day. As part of our courses we also include a sit-down communal home-cooked lunch – a highlight for many of our students!

Getting to the studio
Ahead of each course we provide students with detailed directions for finding the studio and we have plenty of free on-site parking available. Public transport options are limited but nearby, Langford is on the U2 bus route between Bristol and Weston-supe-Mare. Also Yatton station is a 15 minute cab ride away. We can also help to coordinate car-sharing between students where helpful. Where to find us.
