Clayability

Set in the glorious North Somerset countryside, within easy reach of Bristol, Clayability offers a range of pottery courses and one day workshops for beginners and experienced potters alike. Courses are taught in our spacious studios which have been refurbished during 2020 for your comfort and safety.

We have postponed the start of our Spring Term due to the current national Covid lockdown. We’re also rescheduling all of our one and two day courses due to take place before 22nd February, and have contacted all attendees. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates here and via email.

The Great Pottery Throwdown will be aired on Sunday 10th January 2021 at 7.45 pm. Make sure you add it to your calendar! It will then be on every Sunday at 7.45pm for 10 weeks meaning you'll have pottery goodness from the 10th January all the way through to the 14th March 2021.

All courses and workshops are led by one of our experienced professional potters
Bill Moore and Ian Beckton.

Our popular 10 week courses run during term time - with a range of day and evening options from Monday to Saturday.

If you’re interested in learning to throw on the potters' wheel, or would like to develop your existing throwing skills, we run one day throwing courses (usually on a Sunday).

We now offer a “Teapot in a weekend” course.A unique opportunity to learn how to throw and assemble a teapot and mugs, for those already comfortable with the basics of throwing.

We also offer a two day Raku course over two consecutive Sundays, allowing you to make and then fire your work outside. Expect to get very hands on!

If you’d like to treat someone else to one of these experiences you can also buy them as a gift voucher. Contact us if you’d like more information.

We’re very pleased to receive our ‘Good To Go’ certificate from Visit England. This accreditation means we have met all Covid 19 Government guidelines and have created a space that is both reassuring and enjoyable.
